Mississippi River Bank

Mississippi River Bank opened its doors for business on October 10, 1980, seeking to bring back the banking business that was leaving Plaquemines Parish. The bank was designed to emphasize business development and customer service, which is still its focus today.

Milestones

1980's

Restoration & renovation of the 1900’s Hodge House, a three-story mansion in Belle Chasse which houses the main branch of the bank.

1990's

Ranked as one of the top SBA lenders in the New Orleans area

2000's

Built back stronger and better after Hurricane Katrina and opened the Port Sulphur branch office.

2010's

Continued to thrive, earning five-star ratings from Bauer financial year after year.

2020's

Joined forces with another community bank to provide enhanced services to our customers and the community. In 2024, Mississippi River Bank became the Mississippi River division of Merchants and Marine Bank.
